June 2017: I am happy to announce that I will be starting as an Assistant Professor at the Washington University this fall, to continue my work on computational imaging and sensing. I see this appointment as a natural next challenge and an opportunity for professional growth.

February 2017: Congratulations Alessandro Benfenati, Alice Bates, and Abdullah Abdulaziz for winning the Best Contribution Award at BASP 2017.

December 2015: New internship openning "MM930: Inverse Scattering" at MERL. Join a research team in Cambridge, MA, USA, to develop novel methods for computational inverse scattering. Publication of the results produced during the internship is expected.

December 2015: Three manuscripts were accepted for a presentation at ICASSP 2016 including "Parallel proximal methods for total variation minimization" .

December 2015: Recent manuscript "Learning optimal nonlinearities for iterative thresholding algorithms" is now available online. The manuscript was co-authored with Dr. Hassan Mansour.

October 2015: A recent manuscript "Parallel proximal methods for total variation minimization" is now available online. The manuscript was submitted to ICASSP 2016.

September 2015: Two papers were accepted to CAMSAP 2015. "Sparsity-Driven Distributed Array Imaging" was co-authored with Dr. Dehong Liu and Dr. Petros T. Boufounos. "Extended Target Localization with Total-Variation Denoising in Through-the-Wall-Imaging" was co-authored with Hiroyuki Handa, Dr. Hassan Mansour, and Dr. Dehong Liu.

July 2015: Nature "News & Views" highlights our article on "Learning Approach to Optical Tomography."

June 2015: Our paper "Isotropic inverse-problem approach for two-dimensional phase unwrapping" is among the top-10 most downloaded papers in the Journal of the Optical Society of America A for the month of June.

April 2015: Delivered a talk "Inverse problem approach for phase unwrapping" for the ISS Seminar at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences of Harvard University. Host Prof. Yue M. Lu.

April 2015: On Thursday, April 23 at 8:30–10:30, in Poster Area A of ICASSP 2015, I will be presenting our work "Variational Justification of Cycle Spinning for Wavelet-Based Solutions of Inverse Problems." This is a joint work with Emrah Bostan and Prof. Michael Unser.

March 2015: Our manuscript "Isotropic inverse-problem approach for two-dimensional phase unwrapping" is now available online. It was co-authored with Dr. Ioannis Papadoupoulos, Morteza Shoreh, Prof. Demetri Psaltis, and Prof. Michael Unser.

March 2015: We have a new internship opening at MERL MM880: Sensor fusion. This internship will deal with the development of novel technologies for sensor fusion. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in depth sensing, computer vision, and/or image processing.

January 2015: I am pleased to announce that I will be joining Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories (MERL), Cambridge, USA, starting from February 2015. I will be a member of Multimedia group that specializes in the development of efficient solutions for the acquisition, representation, and processing of multimedia.

June 2014: Our manuscript "Variational Justification of Cycle Spinning for Wavelet-Based Solutions of Inverse Problems" was accepted for publication in IEEE Signal Processing Letter. It was co-authored with Emrah Bostan and Prof. Michael Unser.

May 2014: The paper "Approximate Message Passing with Consistent Parameter Estimation and Applications to Sparse Learning" is now available online. It was co-authored with Prof. Sundeep Rangan, Prof. Alyson Fletcher, and Prof. Michael Unser.

November 2013: My work on consistent cycle spinning and MMSE estimators for Levy processes was featured and acknowledged in the book An Introduction to Sparse Stochastic Processes by Michael Unser and Pouya Tafti.

October 2013: Our teaching team for the course Signals and Systems received the 2013 Education Award from EPFL's Life Sciences Section (SV).

June 2013: Our papers "Consistent Discretization of Linear Inverse Problems using Sparse Stochastic Processes" and "Sparse Image Deconvolution with Message Passing" will be presented at SPARS 2013 on July 8 and 11, respectively.
